Dozens of killer Portuguese Man-of-war found washed up on UK beach as bizarre invasion continues
NEW pictures have revealed the extent of Britain's "unprecedented" Portuguese Man O'War invasion - as the deadly creatures wash onto Cornwall's beaches in record numbers.
Horrified surfers on Cornwall's Fistral beach were forced to spend their Sunday stepping around the deadly purple and blue creatures, which were carried to British waters by strong westerly winds from the mid-Atlantic.
The Cornwall Wildlife Trust said there had been 144 sightings of the lethal marine animal - known as the floating terror - in September alone, beating the previous record of 40 across the whole of 2009.
